Rop van Mierlo, a Dutch artist, is the founder ofWild Animals, a publisher and online store based in Amsterdam. He graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven and then developed a unique painting technique that he learned in primary school: wet-on-wet painting. He uses this technique, which allows for little control, to paint wild animals. This resulted in his successful"Wild Animals"series in which he captures animals in an uncontrollable, spontaneous style.
Rop has collaborated with renowned brands such as Marni and Hermès, and his work is on display at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. He values autonomy in his work and has therefore founded Wild Animals to transform his paintings into various products, including limited edition merchandise such as coffee mugs and plastic bags.
