The season when luxury softens
There's something different in the air this season. Not the kind of change that's immediately visible on the street or in campaigns, but a quieter shift taking shape in silhouettes, materials, and the way clothing is worn anew.
FW 2026–2027 isn't about more. The excess of recent years is giving way to focus. Collections feel cleaner, more personal, and more intimate all at once. As if fashion is trying to redefine what luxury means today.
This movement begins with the foundation of the wardrobe and extends from there into everything that follows.
The foundation of the season
The new language of color, material, and form
The color card for FW 2026–2027 moves towards depth and layering. Brown forms the main base, from chocolate to espresso, often combined with red as an unexpected tension in styling. Green remains present in all shades, from soft olive greens to more intense neptune greens.
Within this, neutral tones remain the backbone: camel, beige, khaki, and grey. Above this, a subtle accent layer emerges where red, fuchsia, aubergine, and blue appear as “pops”, but never become dominant. The overall picture is warm, layered, and less contrast-driven.
The same shift can be seen in materials. Denim becomes darker and sturdier, less washed. Wool and heavy knits take a central place, often combined with cashmere in ton-sur-ton layering. Leather and vintage suede dictate the direction in outerwear materials, boots, and bags, always with a soft, polished finish. Puffy coats also remain present, but become calmer in volume and stronger in silhouette, with high collars and subtle faux-fur accents.
The balance also shifts in form. Tailoring and co-ords remain an important base. Shoulders receive more emphasis, and the waist becomes more defined. Pencil skirts return and are combined with oversized knitwear and loose blazers.
Opposite this more structured line is a slouchy direction: draped tops, puff sleeves, loose trousers, and soft shawl constructions. The tension lies in the contrast between form and flow.
Prints become more important and shift from detail to styling focus. Plaids and checks remain strong, alongside subtle dots. Animal prints (bambi, leopard, and zebra) are interpreted more softly, with more emphasis on tone and texture than on contrast.
Knitwear as a foundation
Cashmere and luxury are shifting to the core of the wardrobe
While fashion in recent seasons has often revolved around bold statements, there is now renewed room for tranquility. Knitwear sweaters and cardigans and cashmere clothing are shifting from a winter category to a wardrobe staple.
Extreme Cashmere clearly demonstrates this: not a classic collection, but a system of shapes, colors, and layers built as a long-term wardrobe. Around this, a softer knitwear world is growing, where L'âme de Julie also takes center stage with a personal, warm approach. Les Tricots de Lea adds color to a market long dominated by neutrality.
The layered wardrobe
Fashion, shoes, and bags as one cohesive system of luxury
Within our collection, brand selection regains layering, built around fashion, shoes, and bags that complement each other in styling and silhouette.
In fashion, luxury remains at the core, with RÓHE, Max Mara, NATAN, Isabel Marant, and Cult Gaia as a reference for silhouette, color, and form, supplemented by the aforementioned knitwear and cashmere labels that define the softer layer of the season. New additions such as TWP bring a more modern, feminine interpretation of minimalism within the luxury segment.
Outerwear and winter coats are strengthened by puffer and wool structures from brands like Duno, Mackage, and Blonde no.8, where volume, high collars, and faux-fur details are becoming increasingly important in the overall styling.
In shoes, the focus shifts from sneaker-driven to a broader palette of loafers, boots, and sophisticated heeled shoes. Dear Frances sets a clean, minimalist foundation with dark tones and calm shapes, while Golden Goose and Hogan balance the sneaker image between comfort and casual luxury. In contrast, the role of more feminine and distinct silhouettes grows through Morobé and Isabel Marant, supplemented by premium footwear brands such as Toral, Nubikk, and Rotue, where slouchy boots and softer shapes introduce a new direction. Seasonal elements like UGG also remain present within a more casual, comfort-driven layer!
Within bags, the focus remains stable, with a strong luxury foundation supported by Isabel Marant, Wandler, and Jerome Dreyfuss. The strength here lies not in a change of direction, but in the refinement of existing iconic models, translated into renewed new colors that make the current season softer and more layered.
The return of references
From 80s vibes to romantic and literary influences in your wardrobe
What is already becoming apparent is a mix of clear references and subtle reinterpretations. 80s influences continue in silhouettes with shoulder pads and pronounced shoulder lines, while vintage leather in jackets and trousers once again becomes important as a basic piece with character. Camouflage returns as a print, less literally and more interwoven in styling and contrast, alongside plaids that once again take on a central role as a graphic anchor within the wardrobe and create a clear link with the rise of literary chic: a more academic, layered way of dressing with plaids, blouses, blazers, loafers and shawls.
In contrast, there is a romantic layer reminiscent of Wuthering Heights: lace details, peplum, soft blouses and puff sleeves.
The result is a season where 80s influences, vintage and romantic details come together in modern silhouettes, executed in warm colors, rich materials and distinct textures.
